UNDERWATER REMOVAL OF CALCIUM DEPOSITS
Problem:
Formation of scale on swimming pool tiles surfaces,
in the form of calcium carbonate.
Possible Causes:
The use of calcium hypochlorite for water treatment
could increase water hardness, resulting in scale formation.
Water hardness is the quantity of calcium and magnesium
salts dissolved in water, expressed in terms of CaCO3
ppm. Pool water is considered hard when it measures
above 200ppm. Without excess calcium, scaling on surfaces
is unlikely. Factors involved are calcium hardness,
total alkalinity, pH, temperature and TDS (total dissolved
solids).
